Has anyone tried 7, is it worth the money?

If you are working with Windows Vista SP2 and it hasn't given you any issues I would stick with that for the price. If you're on XP it's worth the dough. If you want to buy it try to find a OEM copy to save a bit of money.

I still, even after using it for 2 months, feel like its a 'fixed' version of vista. And by fixed, I mean they reduced everything down to near moronic levels. It has a lot of flash for people who want to do things the quick, easy way, and a lot of restrictions for techies.

Which is brilliant for microsoft, as a friendly, easy to use, 'non techie' safe OS is perfect for the market they aim at. Lets face it, it took 3 service packs for XP to get fully stable, and 2 for Vista, and it still can be confusing setting up a manual connection when tethering a phone to either OS.

Windows 7 does it for me, everytime, no manual programming, just make it a safe network with permission and go. It seems like I can't fool it when it comes to hooking things up. Yea, trying to edit anything is a joke, and I've found myself uninstalling and reinstalling things at per random just to get them to work. But its a huge step in the right direction for them once they work out the few flaws remaining.

But all you needed for Vista was a techie friend to 'correct' it and it works just fine.
